Best-selling author, time management expert, work life balance specialist and professional speaker Susan Sly releases a three-part series of articles with productivity tips for 2017.
Scottsdale, AZ — January 24, 2017 — Best-selling author, work life balance speaker and expert, and entrepreneur Susan Sly recently published three new articles that comprise a series on increasing productivity this new year.
The three productivity tips articles in this series are:
“A 3-Step Process to Increase Productivity in Your Life in the New Year: Step 1 – The Plan”
“A 3-Step Process to Increased Productivity in Your Life in the New Year: Step 2 – Defining the Destination”
“A 3-Step Process to Increase Your Productivity in the New Year: Step 3 – Mapping the Route”.
The series consists of three important steps for helping to make the new year your most productive yet.
The first article covers making a plan—a life productivity roadmap. This step, Susan contends, is vital.
As she says, “Think about it… if you had to be cross country in a very limited amount of time for a very important event, would you set out without a plan? Without knowing the address of where you were going and the most direct route? Would you “wing it?” Or would you plot your course on a map or with a GPS?”
The answers to these questions, of course, are fairly clear. Thus, Susan gives quite a bit of detail in this piece on exactly how to create that roadmap and what it should include. She guides this process by providing four important questions to ask yourself.
In the second part of the series, Susan has you look forward to where exactly you want to be at the end of your productivity roadmap—your destination.
She elaborates on her same initial analogy:
“If you were heading to a conference and had 2 days to drive 1500 miles, you’d need to plan carefully and deliberately. If the conference literature indicated it was going to be held at the “California Hilton”, that wouldn’t be super helpful, would it? What if it said “Los Angeles Hilton?” That would be a tad better, but still not great.”
Instead, she adds, it’s always better to have the exact address for your trip. The same is true, she says, of your productivity destination goals.
Consequently, just as she did in part one, she then provides several questions for the reader to answer. Thus, helping to ensure their productivity goals are concrete and well-defined.
In the last part of the series, Susan provides the details to help the reader map the specific route to their productivity destination, according to their plan. Specifically, she provides six “quadrants” where the reader should outline 2 – 3 actions he or she will take toward improving productivity in that area.
Finally, Susan explains how to turn all the information gleaned from the three steps into a “personal manifesto” for increased productivity in the new year.
