90% of tech startups fail – let’s change that.
Navigating the exciting and challenging world of starting a business can be rough. Taking your idea to inception, gathering the resources to launch, and inviting people to support your vision is one of the toughest and most rewarding things we can ever do in our career. If you read my blog, you will know that 61% of Americans want to start a business and over 90% never do. Why? Because they lack the self-confidence to take action on their dreams.
What if it didn’t have to be that way?
It doesn’t. When you have a solid system and the right mentors, everything can change. You can take your idea to an MMP (Minimum Marketable Product), you can get it out there to the world, and scale your business. I have done this myself and invested in companies that have.ย
We all face challenges. We MUST use them as learning opportunities if we are to grow and move on
Like you, I have had my share of challenges. We have great days and we have growing days. We have great years and growing years. My growing year came in 2000 when I was blindsided with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, lost my business, and became a homeless single mother living on my brother-in-law’s sofa. It was time for a wakeup call. I had achieved success early on as a professional athlete, media personality, and business owner. Unfortunately, I lacked the wisdom, proven formula, and mentorship to use my success as a springboard for helping others and in my quest to be everything and do everything, I lost everything. It was humbling and it was powerful. It was my ‘never again’ moment. I made a vow that I would spend the rest of my life empowering others however I knew that I had to empower myself first. I got to work and I started a business. Within 3 years, my business was earning six figures. Within 7 years, it was earning seven figures. Using my past pain to fuel my purpose, I have dedicated my life to helping startup founders succeed.
Today, much in my life has changed and I want you to know that anything is possible. In addition to media appearances on CNN, CNBC, Fox, Lifetime, and being quoted in Forbes, MarketWatch, and Yahoo Finance, I have built three award winning sales teams totaling over $2.0 billion USD in sales, am the Founder and CEO of thePause.AI, an advisor to two AI companies, have co-founded an artificial intelligence company – RadiusAI, am a tech investor, keynote speaker, best-selling author, and am a graduate of the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management. I regularly do speaking events for leading tech companies like NVIDIA, HPE, Intel, and Lenovo. It seems like a great CV however it has not been without its share of wall-kicking moments.
