Let’s just get real – brain fog, apathy, mental exhaustion…they all affect us. By the time the weekend rolls around we are often synaptic bundles of mush. Unfortunately, in life, business, and anything we want to excel in, we must be able to call on that 3 pounds of cells between our ears whenever we want.
As a woman who runs 3 businesses, (just launched my newest online venture Acceler8 Coaching with my business partner on Wednesday), is a wife, mom, and someone who wants to achieve, I am always on the lookout for ways to amplify my brain power. Who wouldn’t?
Can we sharpen our cognitive function in 24 hours? Perhaps. If you are feeling lethargic, unfocused, and can’t seem to remember your middle name then why not give these 3 strategies a try.
With this in mind, here is this week’s 3:
Be Smart Like Stanford Students – Try Intermittent Fasting
I came across this article published in the Stanford Law and Biosciences Blog – let’s all agree that they are pretty smart at Stanford and if intermittent fasting is making their big brains even bigger, why not try it?
Turn On Your Brain Like a Harvard Student – Use 120 Minutes/Week of Aerobic Exercise
From one coast to the other, heading to Harvard, another epicenter of big brained individuals, I looked at their health blog to see what they suggested to increase mental function. The study they reviewed found that people who power-walked only twice per week for one hour increased the size of their hippocampus. Yes, my friends, that is a good thing.
At UCLA – They Meditate
In this study, performed at UCLA, subjects who meditated had less age-related brain atrophy than those who did not.  Basically, meditation not only turns on brain function, it slows down the aging of your brain.
Well, that concludes this week’s 3. I love you all. Let’s go out there and turn on our brains so we can do amazing things in the world.
