Best-selling author, time management expert, work life balance specialist and professional speaker Susan Sly publishes a new article outlining why professional reputation management is so important today and what you need to do to keep your professional reputation squeaky clean.

Scottsdale, AZ — March 23, 2017 — Best-selling author, work life balance speaker and expert, and entrepreneur Susan Sly recently published a new article titled, “When the Truth Hurts—Professional Reputation Management Online.”

In the article opening, Susan explains that professional reputation management is becoming more and more of a big deal. Today, more than ever, people research a business or even individual online before getting involved with them professionally in any manner.

As Susan states, “Whether they are going to spend $50 or $50,000, they want to know who they are doing business with and what experiences others have had with the business or professional too. That’s why professional reputation management is something you can’t afford to ignore.”

There are also now numerous sites where customers, clients, and patrons can leave review information. This is great for the consumer but can make online reputation management a little harder for the professional or the business because there are so many different places online to be monitored. Add in the fact that for many, there is no burden of proof on the customer that you ever did business with them at all, and a professional reputation could be damaged, without the victim ever realizing it.

To this end, Susan provides one solution that involves setting up Google Alerts to monitor your online presence—any time you, your business name or other pertinent keywords are mentioned online. As she explains, “That way you can address any negative reports quickly—before they have a chance to morph or grow into something massively worse.”
